2000 club car troubleshooting
I just purchase a golf cart from a friend.he told me it had been setting for over a year and he thought all it needed was batteries. Got batteries on it and everything is dead I show 49 volts coming from the batteries. I check the key switch have power there and the throttle it is putting out power checked all fuses. Where do I start. sN of the cart is A0012-877935.

Still need to charger those batteries. Fully charged is at least 50.9 volts.
Is this a Series cart (FNR Lever by your right leg)? Or is there a rocker switch for Fwd/Rev? |

Ok, that is a Regen 2 cart. Is your main contactor (solenoid) clicking from behind the battery area?

If you measure between the large posts you will probably get 1 to 1.5 vdc. Then with the key On, Rocker in Fwd, and when depress the Go pedal once you hear it click, it should go to 0 vdc.
Confirm. And be sure you have fully charged it for testing purposes. |

Hey sorry it took me so long but I found I bad wire and replaced, so cart is working now but very weak even right after full charge. It has 2 solenoid on it the one on the drivers side has a big curled wire resistor it smells like it’s burning and red hot. On the floor it will not pull up a hill. Flat seems ok but even then that coil is red hot.

Red hot means the solenoid connected to that coiled resistor has failed. Either replace it, or jumper that solenoid out and disconnect the speed sensor on the back of your motor. Speed will return to normal but the gentle braking that occurs when you lift your foot off the accelerator will be disabled.
