Default Solenoid Wiring

My stock solenoid had 3 small wires (in addition to the two big wires that attached to the bigger posts on top).

I had a small red wire that attached to the bigger post on top.

I had a small red wire that attached to the + small terminal.

I had a small yellow wire that attached the - small terminal.

Then of course I had the diode that went from small terminal to small terminal.

My question is, on my new HD solenoid (SW 180-93), I am guessing I keep the wires the same. Meaning the red wire that attached to the bigger top posts will go on the bigger top post again. The red wire that attached to the + small terminal will go there again, and the yellow wire that attached to the - small terminal will go there again. The diode will have the strip to the side of the red wire.

So, on the wiring diagram, there seems to be 2 red wires that attach to the big post on top.

One red to the OBC, one red to the reverse horn. Then it looks like there should be a green to the keyswitch?

On the wiring diagram, there is indeed a yellow to the small - terminal and a red to the small + terminal. There also seems to be a white/black wire that should go to the small + terminal according to the wiring diagram.

Also, the red wire that attaches to the small + terminal, should be coming from J1 of the Alltrax controller. However, the wire that was attached to the small + terminal of my stock solenoid was coming from the front of the cart, which doesn't seem like it would do that if it were coming from J1 of the controller, there are literally side by side.

On the wiring diagram, there is indeed a yellow to the small - terminal and a red to the small + terminal. There also seems to be a white/black wire that should go to the small + terminal according to the wiring diagram. On a Series cart this was from your microswitch on the FNR shifter

Also, the red wire that attaches to the small + terminal, should be coming from J1 of the Alltrax controller. Wait, your pic showed a Curtis controller. If you have an Alltrax SR, it should be RED - Key Switch, BLACK - Solenoid Neg Control, BLUE – Reverse, GREEN – User Personality switchHowever, the wire that was attached to the small + terminal of my stock solenoid was coming from the front of the cart, which doesn't seem like it would do that if it were coming from J1 of the controller, there are literally side by side.
Look above. Not sure of your controller based on your pic

Sorry, I was showing the stock controller and solenoid to show the wires and how they were connected.

I added a pic of the new setup below.

On my stock solenoid, there was only a small red wire to the large post on top, a small red wire to the + small terminal and a small yellow wire to the small - terminal.

My question is do I need to go searching for the other wires that are on the wiring diagram (for instance there was no white/black wire on the small + terminal my stock solenoid and there was no extra red wire to the large post on top of the solenoid and there was no green wire to the keyswitch), or just connect the wires that were on my old solenoid to the new solenoid in the same fashion?

Connect them exactly as they were.

And if that solenoid is polarized (has assigned "+" & "-" indications) on the small posts, then a diode is not required as it is internally protected.

Thanks. It isn’t assigned + or -, so I have to use the diode.
