Battery Load Tester
Looking at buying a Load Tester, all I see are 6 and 12V .
Will a 12V Tester give proper readings on 8V Batteries? |

Re: Battery Load Tester
it wont be in the "red or green" areas that are there for 6 and 12 volt readings but you can read the analog scale just fine....

Re: Battery Load Tester
well you hook it up to said battery and the needle should go above 8 to close to 8 and a half....then you hit the load switch for about 10 seconds and see how far it drops....a good battery will stay above 8 or hang right around it ....;below 8 is not good , and if it drops way down , then you have a problem battery...

Re: Battery Load Tester
Purchased a Schumacher BT100, Fully charged green light on pack. Ran cart around the yard to remove surface charge. RT in T,
When connected, the Load tester needle indicates a minimum of 8.4v on all Batteries. However when I push the load switch, the needle moves to 7.2 or 7.4 on all batteries. What am I doing wrong? |

Re: Battery Load Tester
At 7.2V/battery that equals 43.2V. That is a normal drop for a GC. If it drops to 6.6v/batt that's when you need to be concerned.

Re: Battery Load Tester
Thanks, I thought the Voltage had to stay at 8 or above under load.
