Hot Yamaha 1990 G2EF Resistor Coil
I was having problems with my cart not running after charging. Last time I charged it, I thought batteries might be overcharging. I turned on headlights to draw down voltage of the batteries. I kept stepping on the accelerator, but nothing would happen. finally, i got a connection and some movement of the cart, but started smelling the resistor coil getting hotter and hotter. when I removed the battery cable, I was getting strong sparking at the terminal like an arc welder. I saw one of your forums and figured my non movement problem might be the charger receptacle with the cut out switch. installed a new one. tried to connect the battery and still got the strong arcing at the battery terminal and the coil starting to get hot again. Is the resistor coil going bad? The cart was running great when I would let it sit for a couple of days after charging. That's why the new receptacle made sense.

The solenoid is stuck "on", or is being commanded on when it's not supposed to be.
