Default Panoramic rear view mirror for 2007 Precedent

I need some advice (and pics would be great) for installing a panoramic rear view mirror for 2007 Precedent. I haven't purchased the mirror yet because I'm not sold on the idea of drilling into the roof and I'm worried the mirror will be mounted too high. Most of the inexpensive mirrors suggest mounting to the roll bar but that won't work on a Precedent. Any advice is appreciated.

My wife's Precedent has a convex morror mounted to the roof support and it's rock solid. We mounted a small panoramic to the flat tab of plastic that protrudes down from the roof and it wobbles all over the place at any type of speed. My DS has a 5 panel mounted to the roof supports and it's rock solid. I have some side views to mount to the Precedent and that should be good to go, but if you really want panoramic, I think you'll have to mount it to the roof supports or fashion a metal support of your own.

If your mechanically inclined you can rig something up to go from bar to bar. My mirror with the brackets it comes with won't work, so I had to re-due some brackets to work with a couple longer bolts. When I get home I will take some pics. Very solid, as I go through the woods with the cart and haven't had any issues.

I don't know that I would call myself "mechanically inclined" so I better stick to the basic options. I've seen a mirror with one bracket in the middle or I've seen a mirror with two brackets total, one near each side of the mirror. The two brackets seem to appear more stable but that's also more holes to drill in the roof of the cart?

You should not have to drill any holes, the 5-panel wide mirrors mount on the existing bolts on each side that hold the roof.

You just take the bolt off, slide the mirror bracket and put the bolt back on.

I have the 5-mirror on my Precedent and I don't like it that much, if I drove it a lot on the streets I would use side mirrors.

+1 on the side mirrors, I had a 5 panel and hated it especially with anyone on the backseat

The 5 panel was never part of the plan- I was actually thinking of the panoramic rear view mirror but after hearing of the struggles to see (especially with rear passengers), I may be leaning toward the side view mirrors now.

i have the 5 panel and like it as it gives you full view behind you
a friend with a 17 precedent just removed the side mirrors for the 5 panel, she loves it
she has a back seat, i do not

Well I was able to avoid holes in roof and frame because the Precedent has plastic piece (likely for golf pin placement sheet) that allowed for sturdy installation of panoramic mirror. Front & Back pics
