Default Re: 2000 EZGO TXT Series - Upgrades for speed

I have a 07 Series Cart and added the SR48500 Controller and 400 Solenoid. I had new US Batteries installed in May when the cart was purchased in June. I added 2 6V in the bagwell to make the 48V since i was adding a 6in Spindle and 23in tires. I plan on getting an upgraded motor but going back and forth with which one to get.

Do this going up a hill if you have one. Hopefully not lower that about 31.5v.
Also, what are you using to measure speed? An app on the phone is fine but let the cart run some distance to get the top speed. If you can find 50-100 yards of level hard surface, pavement if possible would be good. Driver only and tires 20psi or greater.
Thanks for this good information. When I test drove the cart out of state, I am thinking it was not fully charged. The previous owner was saying how slow the cart was, so I took it for granted that the speed during the test drive was typical. During the test drive, the tires were around 12psi and we had the four of us riding on it. After inflating the tires to 25psi and fully charging the batteries at home, we are now running at typical series cart speeds. On moderate down hill slopes, we were getting 17mph and on moderate uphill slopes were were 12mph. Flat we were 13 to 14mph. I think everything is good with the mechanicals and the batteries. The cart rides smooth as silk.
We are using a GPS phone app to measure the speed. I am still planning the upgrades I mentioned (plus many other non-performance related items). I will take you guys along on that journey.

Sounds awesome. Did you see any practical gains from that SR48500 controller? I'm kind of taking the opposite approach with a stock controller and an upgraded motor rather than an upgraded controller and a stock motor.

How about posting a picture of your two 6V batteries in the bag well?

I put them in 2 Marine holders, but i did see a huge increase in torque in the sense that i can control it by making it more or less which was nice.
