Default DS to IQ Conversion Brag

Attachment 214908Taking a moment to brag about my successful conversion of my '96 DS Regen 1 system to an IQ system. I know this isn't a big deal for many of you, but I'm a retired software engineer and not a mechanic. So, for me it's a big deal. However, I would never have completed this conversion successfully without the help of Dave Hicks of Revolution Golf Cars (https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com) who is a regular contributor on this forum. Dave provided me with all parts required for the conversion and responded immediately to my questions as I went through the process. A great guy with an encyclopedic knowledge of Club Cars (and maybe more!). Thanks, Dave.

Nice job, that's not your average "mod" that's for sure.

Nothing like assembling it all yourself to understand and be able to troubleshoot in the future. What did you do for 12v wiring? My cart is a 98 DS that was swapped to 07 IQ. I have the 12pin harness behind the dash but I think the DS light kit was already spliced into the IQ harness. Not sure if a factory style 48v to 12v converter will work. I prefer plug and play to keep things tidy.

My '96 didn't have a light kit. I installed a 48v to 12v reducer [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ie=UTF8&psc=1] . Installed a 12v wiring harness for a light system and just plugged it into the 12v from reducer. That brought 12v to the front of the cart. Sounds like you need advice from someone with a similar IQ setup.
