I mentioned the heavy duty dual action springs to the dealer. My cart does have a rear fold down seat. I asked him his honest opinion and he said he didn't think that I would need them. Maybe I said the wrong thing with "heavy duty" as that was not in your quote. He said "Regular springs are standard, but heavy duty are $160 installed". He told me when I come for my test drive prior to delivery that anything I wanted to change I certainly could. I guess the indicator that I need them would be if I get a couple of guys to sit on the back seat and two people up front and if the wheels scrape then they are needed??? Are there any other indicators that they would be needed?

The dual action spring is actually a normal spring with a "helper leaf" that engages if sufficient weight is added. In my case the helper leaf is very short and isn't banded like some leafs are on heavy duty springs. The idea is the cart rides better (softer) with no passengers on the back but when passengers are added the helper leaf stiffens the ride and doesn't let the rear of the cart sag.
Regular heavy duty springs are very stiff when no weight is on the back. Not new technology.

If you don't get rubbing with the weight you intend to carry you're probably all right but if the springs are too soft with weight on the back it can affect the steering when cart is loaded. Put 2 adults back there and drive the cart at speed. Make sure it is stable and not overly sensitive to steering input.
