Newb needs direction
Absolute newbie, having an issue with reversing on my 2001/2002 DS series cart. When I switch (lever) to back up, I hear a 'click' but the cart doesn't move. It doesn't happen all of the time, but when it does, if I hit the go pedal a few times, then it will back up as it should. Batteries are fully charged, all of the wiring to each component are clean and tight, and the cart otherwise runs as it should. Where would I look to fix this this? Is this a pedal/linkage issue or something else? Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Newb needs direction
It only happens in reverse? Never in forward?

Re: Newb needs direction
Maybe a bad microswitch on the F/R switch?

Only in reverse. I hear something click(as it should) but nothing happens. Hit the go pedal a few times then it works as it should.

Re: Newb needs direction
If you are hearing the click the micros should be okay. Try moving the fnr a little with the pedal pushed. If it starts moving bad fnr

Quick test is to pull the green and white wires off micro switch #3 (rearmost on F/R switch) and connect them together - can be done with a fuse. If that's not it likely an issue with the F/R switch. |

Re: Newb needs direction
I pulled all of the wires(one at a time!)off of the FnR switch. Cleaned then and made sure they were all nice and snug, and put them back on with a spot of dielectric grease. No more issues-at least for now. Thanks! I had no idea what to look at.

Re: Newb needs direction
Just wondering - are your referring to the large (6+AWG) wires or the microswitch wires?

The smaller wires on the microswitch. They all appeared to be clean and snug initially, but apparently that wasn't the case. I guess looks can be deceiving!
