Default Best Charging Method

I have a 04 36vlt EZGO with new Trojans T-105 batteries. I was talking with the golf cart shop about best charging methods to achieve the longest life. The owner of the shop said it is best to plug it in for a recharge after every use, regardless of how long used. A customer told me it is best to let the batteries run down a bit before recharging due to the batteries. Which one is correct?

Shop Owner...Read the "Stickies" about battery care. They are your largest investment and learning as much as possible about their care is time well spent=$$$

The shop owner mentioned that as well when we all were talking about it. However the customer was adamant that the constant charging shorten the battery life because it would help make the battery develop a memory. I question his logic in that why don't automobile batteries develop. Which he replied, two different types of batteries....hence why they make batteries specifically for golf carts.

There are several different chemistries used in rechargeable batteries and each type has its own recharging protocols that need to be followed for maximum performance and lifespan.

NiCad batteries had memory issues and needed to be deeply discharged periodically to erase the memory and are seldomly used these days. In some instances, replacement batteries with different chemistry are available for legacy devices.

Lead-Acid has no memory issues.

The trick is to identify the battery chemistry and maintain accordingly.
