Re: '01 48v club car surges with pedal depressed
Wrote down all the procedures outlined above so I can test things. However I am new to this and have no idea what a MCOR is. Is that the micro switch on top of the F/R switch? Looks like AOO to me but I guess it could be AOQ.
Ok,I found out what the MCOR is feel like a dummie. Last edited by Steve-D; 05-07-2016 at 02:55 PM.. Reason: discovered something need to put in. |

Steve? You had the year right the first time! it's a 2000!
A = DS (before the individual letter designation) 00 = 2000 30 = week of manufacture |

Re: '01 48v club car surges with pedal depressed
Thanks mrgolf,theboss20 and LOCKMAN1.Been cleaning things and it seems to be getting better. Kind of looks like cleaning things up is what I need to do to make it run right. I'll post here my results. Does anyone know of a golf cart savage yard in the Leesburg, FL area?

Re: '01 48v club car surges with pedal depressed
Have been cleaning things up and it seems to have done the trick. Cart is running great! Cables didn't look dirty but I cleaned them up really good and have the problem under control. Thanks for the input.

Re: '01 48v club car surges with pedal depressed
I have the same problem with a 2008 48v IQ cart a customer brought me to repair. He put new batteries in it thinking that was the problem -not. I did all the testing on it and the solenoid was bad. replaced it and still has the same issue with all components testing good. Friend sent me some good spare parts to try by elimination. swapped out controller and the mocr and neither corrected issue. I'm waiting on a new speed sensor to arrive to try that. I will keep you posted on what comes about. If anyone else has any ideas would love to hear. Even talked to club car mechanic and his answer was the same to just swap parts to see if one them fixes it.

Re: '01 48v club car surges with pedal depressed
Well I received the new speed sensor today and installed it. That solved the surging issue. I have a another issue that i'm not sure about. Now with the cart up on jack stands I depress the accelerator pedal and when I push it all the way to the floor it will shut the motor down, then when I let of the pedal and do it again the motor will only go to half speed. I have to turn the key switch off and flip/ toggle the tow/run switch and retry it and it runs normal again. Is this a safety feature to protect the motor or do I have another issue. All tests preformed from the club car manual says that the controller/mocr/obc/speed sensor all tests good. I haven't worked on enough club cars to know all the in's and out's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
