Default Need advice on TXT upgrades

Hi guys, I love this forum. No question goes unanswered. I need your help with som equipment advice. I have a 98 gas TXT with the 295 mci. I have no clue about the quality, or preference of lift kits and tires. I would love to have the long travel but dont know if its worth the money!! I also need advice on which tires and sizes that complement the appropriate lifts. I'm looking for all kinds of advice and preferences. Pro's, con's, or whatever. I want 4 to 6 inches of lift and tires to match. I want what is the best for the money and performance. I believe in asthetics and the fact that you get what you pay for but if it aint functional or useful it aint worth a da##. So the upgrades of my txt are in the hands of the great minds at BGW. I appreciate the input and the equipment will be purchased by the replies I get. As I install I will post some before and after pics. THANKS ALOT!!!!

Long travel is the way to go! Far superior ride and handling. I have the Stretch long travel front from Carts Unlimited and I love it, it is wider than Jakes long travel so, keep that in mind.
I have never heard anyone regret buying a long travel.
Wheels and tires? I dont really have that much for ya.

Good luck

Ess, I know this kit will widen the stance on the front tires, what to do to get the rear to match? Spacers? If so what do they usually run (ballpark)?
Also, is it all bolt in or is there mods that need to be made? How do you compensate for the lift at the rear? Thanks

I see them on-line between 600 and 800 plus freight. I flipped the rear axel on the workhorse. Yep, I've got 3" spacers on both sides in the back to match the width of the front so, total 6" of spacers. I dont recall the cost of the spacers but I went with the billet rather than the lug extenders. Yours would be in the 600 range for the 98. Shoot Scottyb a PM for his current price.
I dont think the Jakes lift is as wide as the Stretch.

I believe they are all 100% bolt on. The Stretch was easy once I decided to follow the directions

I'll hit scottyb up n see whats up on the lift and spacers for the rear. So you just swapped the axle from top to bottom of the leaf springs and got your a** end back up. What inch lift are you using and what brand?

Ruredy gave me the direction on the back lift. Yes I moved the axel from top of the springs to underneath the springs. I picked up spring perches from tractor supply and put them on top of the axel and flipped it. I dont know the actual lift height but I have about 13 inches clearance at the rocker panel.

The independant front is great, but with the leafs in the back I take it in the azz. Scottyb did a 3 link rear suspension on his that is really nice.

How right you are ..... our first couple of long travels we left the springs in the rear and kept getting our arses beat up. Then we found a Terra toys rear long travel and later made our own version. Ahhhhhhhhhh ........
