That's exactly what I will be doing. I've been holding off to do the mod because I wanted to use air shocks (and finding the time to do it.) Problem is the clearance, the air shocks are a little too wide.

What didn't you like with the Monroes's? Clicky

I actually ran Monroe air shocks in the beginning, the problem that I ran into was when I was not needing them, they would run at 4 to 5 pounds of air after a while the bellows dry cracked.
And for the record I am on Monroe guy, if I can't find bilsteins,

I had a buddy at AutoZone who allowed me to try various different kinds of shocks, the Gabriel's are the ones I finally settled on,

Thanks for doing all that footwork. I really wanted to do air shocks not only for the bling value, but for the function. Figure I could air them up when I had 4 people on the cart (about 10% of the time) while maintaining the mild leaf spring suspension for me and the DW for our cocktail run on gravel roads.

Your comment on the air shock just made me totally give up on that idea. Hopefully a precharged shock will give a little more rear end lift then the old school stock CC dampening shock.
