Default Fuel pump pressure

I have recently puchaced a Gas Yamaha G-14 and it is starving for fuel. I have replaced the fuel pump, carburator, fuel filter and flushed the fuel. I do have a pulse but seems very week and while turning the engine over it just drizzles out of the oulet fuel line. Is there a way to check pulse pressure? any sugestions?

Welcome to BGW!

Check the fuel lines and the pulse line for cracks or breaks.

What he said, it should gush out at the carb on the starter, on each pulse. Either the pulse is leaking out, or it has a restriction in the fuel flow. Also check the venting on the tank but that should not be an issue until it was run for a while I'd think.

The G9 had a valve on the pulse line to bleed it into the rocker cover, but I don't recall what newer engine has. It was like a pvc valve and you just cleaned it with carb clean, it was in a rubber boot near the cylinder.

PVC = Poly Vinyl Chloride (plastic plumbing pipe)

PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventillation (pcv valve)

LOL! But who's keeping track....uh...well, my sorry ***. Sorry.

But you are right about the possible leaks....ditto!

Well I checked everything and even put an electric fuel pump on. The fact is that it is getting enough fuel. I found that by removing the breather tube from the carb, its runs good but connected its starving for air. No restrictions in the breather assembly or filter. Doesnt make sense! Any ideas???

If your air filter is clean and all the tubing/hoses are in the right place, then I'd say you have a carb issue. Take the carb off and remove the bowl, inspect for dirt/gunk. Clean with tooth brush and carb cleaner and/or soak overnight in soapy water. Then rinse well and blow out water and let air dry. Reassemble and test.

Started at the basics, got fuel, air, spark but have only 85psi of compression. What is normal dry compression on a G14?

At wide open throttle, with a good battery turning it over well... standard-178 psi/minimum-142 psi.
