Charge time and boiling batteries

Ok, I let my cart charge all night and it was off this morning...Thank goodness! When I got home after work (about 9 hours), I took another load test and all the batteries were a tad in the yellow(weak). I will get a voltage meter tomorrow and let you all know what me readings are with that. QUESTION, do I need to replace these batteries if they are all a tad weak? Or, will I make it a few years on these batteries?

you might want to checks cells with hydrometer also, as for keeping them its all in your driving habits if you don,t mind being handicapped so to speak you might get away with it but i would make certain with batteries 1st......and keep in mind cutting corners with batteries is the very last thing you want to do so if you have the money and your gut is telling you it needs batteries than.............................................8 )

What kind of load tester are you using? If possible put up a pic of it.

That's what I thought. An automotive load tester will not be accurate for deep cycle batteries. I do use one, but it's only to get an idea if the battery is even useable. ( when junkyard hunting ) The way to do this on your cart is to connect your DMM to first the entire battery pack, and then to each individual battery, and drive the cart. If you have an incline, that is best. I sometimes brake with my left foot and accelerate with my right to load the batteries. Don't do this for too long, all you want is to see the voltage under this type of load. Make sure to keep the cart moving when you do this! Stalling an electric motor is taboo! Try this and post up the results. I know all these tests take up time, but replacing parts unnecessarily takes more time in costs and labor!
