Default Full throttle acceleration weak, 1/2 throttle okay..?

First time using any forum so... be kind to my ignorance.

I have a 96 EZGO elec cart. When I press the accelerator 1/2 way (to when I first hear a click) it seems to engage and accelerates about like I expect with the old batteries I have... not sure how long I'll run, but it seems fine.

When I depress the pedal all the may, goes very slow and labors....

I have to play with the pedal and slowly depress it more as the cart picks up speed and eventually, can be at full throttle.

Any ideas what could be wrong or going out on me?

Thanks guys, I'm not so mechanical and pockets are limited so I appreciate all the help I get.

Adam

It sounds like weak batteries, not enough juice for hard or heavy acceleration.

Attach a DMM to the pack and note the reading sitting still then watch the meter as somebody accelerates. What does the voltage drop to? What was the starting voltage? Scotty
