Batteries for our gas carts
Any recommendations? I am wanting to buy a few parts for the young girl (she's only 25) and I need a new battery just to start trouble shooting.

Re: Batteries for our gas carts
I understand a 12 volt battery is in order, but was wondering about cranking amps, name brand, etc

Re: Batteries for our gas carts
I buy the Walmart "Everstart" batteries, they're only $25 and come with a 2yr warranty - I use them in all my tractors, cart, even the Harleys and they haven't failed me yet, been using them for almost 4 years. Just make sure to pull them and use a conditioner over the winter, they don't like sitiing for long in the cold

Re: Batteries for our gas carts
I put a 1000 cold cranking amp. deep cycle battery on mine.
I think it was around $80.00 at Auto Zone. |

Re: Batteries for our gas carts
I think mine came with a 325 amp battery. Ran it down more than once.
I have a lot of lights and accessories sometimes run a 12 volt heater. The deep cycle has never ran down but if it does it is designed so it can be recharged many times unlike a reg. auto battery. 1000 is over kill but I want mine to start. |

Re: Batteries for our gas carts
Thanks for the info! I will probably go with a mid range one than. Say 5-600. Should be good.

Re: Batteries for our gas carts
I concur with BCM I measured the space in the battery well and just bought the biggest that would fit from the local Walmart.

Re: Batteries for our gas carts
I have a 79 marathon and the biggest I got in mine was a group 24. I bought a rebuilt one and its holding up great. I have lights, horn, and a cig lighter and it charges well.

Re: Batteries for our gas carts
Cheap is not always better.
Never seen a car battery for $25.00 anywhere. Well maybe in 1970. You get what you pay for. Get what works for you. In God We Trust |
