Accelerator trouble CC 36V
I have a confusing problem that I am sure someone here knows the simple answer to. My cart is an early 90's Club Car 36 V. When I turn it on, in neutral all is fine. Put in Forward and the wheels start forward with no depression of the accelerator. Put it in Reverse, and nothing even with pressing the accelerator peddle. I have checked the linkage to the the accelerator switch, and everything looks ok. The spring to returning the pedal to full off position, and the rod tied to the accelerator switch is returning the switch to what I presume is the off position.
Any suggestions on what might be wrong? |

Re: Accelerator trouble CC 36V
Yes, which drive system do you have? 5 solenoid or resistor coil? Or what year is the cart?

Re: Accelerator trouble CC 36V
sounds like you have a stuck solenoid or bad microswitch but as scotty said drive system would help................................

Re: Accelerator trouble CC 36V
Must be resistor coil. there are spring like coils behind the batteries.

Re: Accelerator trouble CC 36V
I have installed a new solenoid and a new microswitch is on the way. I discovered a green wire on one of the small post of the old solenoid that was disconnected. Has a small female blade connector on it, and I cannot tell where this should be connected. A wiring diagram has been hard to find so far... but I am still looking.
I appreciate the suggestions. |

Re: Accelerator trouble CC 36V
Which srolenoid did you replace. Youshould have 5 of them and its the furthest left that is the master......,..............the others are speeds, as for green wire? You,ll need top try and trace it to see where it goes unless you can find a wiring diagram which won,t be easy...................

Re: Accelerator trouble CC 36V
Thanks shadowman! I managed to find the diagram for my cart here; http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ar-wiring.html
I replaced the only solenoid I found. The diagram will help me trace down the wires now, I will update this thread once I have done that. Again, thank you! |

Re: Accelerator trouble CC 36V
There is a pie shaped black plastic box on the frame rail right under the drivers seat..... this is the throttle signal V-glide. It has a wiper arm and some stationary contacts. open it up and see if the wiper is returning all the way to the zero (off) position

Re: Accelerator trouble CC 36V
It is now fixed! The wiper switch was a bit off due to a bend in the linkage, and the green wire from the solenoid had come off. Fixed the linkage and reconnected the solenoid wire and it all seems to run fine now. The switch where the wire from the solenoid connects has two possible connections. I chose the top connection rather than the middle connection because it seemed to have a scratch mark from the connector. Is that the correct connection point?
I really appreciate your help! You guys are great! |

Re: Accelerator trouble CC 36V
If it runs you're correct. You r detective work paid off. That switch has 2 options normally open or closed, then the switching reverses the function. Sounds like you got it right.
