Default US Energy vs Centennial vs Trojan

One shop says US Energy batteries are the bomb. EZGO OEM battery supplier so they must be good.

Next shop says US Energy is crap. Centennials, now those are the batteries to get.

Trojans, OTOH, I know of from solar and RV experience.

I'm buying used and will, most likely, need to replace the batteries. Though I'm inclined to buy Trojans, like everyone else, I love to save money where I can. Any sense of whether it's worth foregoing the Trojans for one of the other two?

Default Re: US Energy vs Centennial vs Trojan

These days, there are probably more differences in the grades of batteries within the same brand than there are between the same grade batteries in different brands.

In general terms, the least expensive battery in any brand will yield sub-par run-time and a shorter life expectancy, so when someone is comparing brands, make sure apples are being compared to apples.

Batteries with higher Amp-Hour ratings have longer run-times and a longer useful life before the must be replaced.

The Trojan T-105 (6V - 225AH) is the de facto standard, so if average run-time and battery life is acceptable, go with the best priced batteries in that AH range that can be obtained locally, since shipping batteries is very expensive.

If you want greater than average run-time and lifespan, get higher AH batteries.
If you don't mind shorter run-time and replacing the batteries sooner, get the least expensive one.

In the immortal words of Mark Twain:
If you want clean fresh Oats, you've got to pay the price.
If you don't mind if they've been through the horse once, that comes cheaper.
