Bulldog batteries anyone?
Been seeing these commercials more and more lately here in Columbia SC. A search on this site revealed little. Interesting claims by the owner in this video about the 2XREP
Wonder what they cost compared to a good ole Trojan? |

Re: Bulldog batteries anyone?
Those are bold claims. 2X the run time. I wonder if they are twice as expensive.

Re: Bulldog batteries anyone?
I say BS! If it has increased run time, then it will require increased charge watt-hours to charge it. There is no energy free lunch here! They say directly that you will save on your electric bill. You Won't!

Re: Bulldog batteries anyone?
with Volt_Ampere
Lead–acid batteries, were invented by French physicist Gaston Planté in 1859 and have been improved upon considerably in the past 154 years, but I have heard politicians make more believable claims and some of the customer testimonies defy the laws of physics. Regardless of the batteries being used, it take a specific number of Watt-Hours to move a golf cart from Point-A to Point-B and that same number of Watt-Hours has to be returned to the battery to recharged it to its original State of Charge. Battery charging isn't 100% efficient, so it takes more Watt-Hours from the fossil fueled power plant to recharge the battery than was expended moving the cart from Point-A to Point-B, however the efficiency of the battery charging process will be roughly the same if you moved the cart from Point-A to Point-B once per charge, twice per charge or many times per charge. ------------ For double the run-time of a 225AH battery (IE: T-105), the 2XREP would have to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 450AH and it would have to be stuffed into a box roughly the same dimensions as a T-105, if it was going to fit into the cart without modifying the stock battery frame. It will be interesting to see the size, weight and AH specs, but I can't find them. |

I had a few free min. this morning so I called bulldog battery. this is what i was told..
You need a charger that will charge at least 25 to 28 dc amps.. the batteries are rated at 330ah. and they are 154.00 each.. |

Re: Bulldog batteries anyone?
If it is the 20 hour AH rating, 330Ah would give the at least 50% more run-time, but I am skeptical about double the run time.
That is not a bad price for a high AH battery. Too bad I wasn't aware of them last fall, I might have tried a set. |

Re: Bulldog batteries anyone?
JGDUSC, I am pretty sure there is a company over near Newberry on 34 that sells batteries and I think it may be Bulldog.. Can't remember.. I called them one time before and their price was close to what I can get Trojans for so it was a no brainer.. I will see if I can find it again..

Re: Bulldog batteries anyone?
I will have to check my charger. I am not sure it is large enough to charge the batteries to full capacity.. I am not sure of the chargers strength.
