Re: oil light
What CTD said! ^^^
The lift matters a little! I still suggest changing the zips, the oil to 10W-40 (spec amount, and syth if possible) and I bet all will be good! Poor Cog... he's not even in on all of this! newbies... |

Re: oil light
ok guys........ i got to ride on cogs cart yesterday, sweet cart by the way.
his oil light comes on just cruising, no harsh driving just cruising, heaven forbid if you want stomp on it for a quick blast, light comes on stays on, the thing that has got me puzzled is, under 2500 rpms light still comes on, the cart runs fine, no smoke, no sputter nothing out of the normal, from a good running cart. could this just be as simple as a switch going out??? and if so how do you check it??? cog leaves today, to go back to the real world, kinda hoping to resolve this before he leaves pcc |

Morning PCC! Did you change the oil yet?
I use 10W-40 Mobil 1, with a (Wal-mart) Super Tech 4967 oil filter, and my light has never come on! Last edited by lockman1; 08-18-2013 at 07:20 AM.. Reason: oil vicosity change |

Re: oil light
It seems that the thicker viscosity oils don't seem to flow and return to the crankcase as a thinner viscosity would,
which trips the switch in the block and turns the light on! 5W-30 I thought is a thicker viscosity... but I never did understand any of that! I've also heard that some oil filters don't let the oil flow, OR... let the oil flow too much, which will also turn the light on! |
