Default Re: How Big of Tires will fit a non lifted G29

Ok I charged the batteries and tesed to be sure then set out for my speed test. Still only getting 17mph on the cart. I am going to call the dealer Monday because I read he should have provided me with the code as well and I don't have it anywhere. Other than that I like the cart, got it all cleaned up and ordered some more parts. I have another question though, the gas pedal has a little switch that is released as you press down the pedal, and it is basically all the way out at a 1/4 press if the pedal. Is this normal?

Thanks everyone in advance

Josh

Josh,

Can you post a pic of your cart? I would like to see what it looks like with the tires you have.

Thanks

The plunger switch is only an on/off and does not travel all the way out with the pedal, so yes that is normal. Everybody will tell you that you can't, but I put 14's with low pro tires on the drives all the time.

When I had the PTV code done, the dealer put a sticker on the cart and gave me another sticker inside a PTV owners manual. I like the way the cart handles over the EZGO I had and the brake is a ton more responsive. Your cart looks good Josh

I probably should start a new thread for this, but can anyone give me some info on the High Speed Gears. Everywhere I read it says it will affect your torque, but how much and will this cause battery/controller issues? I really would like another 5 MPH but I actually use my cart for golf so I don't want to sacrifice any performance at the course. Let me know if you have ever done one and the overall results.

Thanks,

Josh

Has a bad effect on hill climbing (even moderate hills). Like a 10mph or more speed drop from top speed when you hit a hill. You say "no performance loss" is what you are after, than forget about gears. And, yes, 14" rims with 35 series profile tires fit if the correct backspacing is used.

Can people post pictures of there non lofted g29 with larger tires. Wife is concerned that 20.5 will not make the cart look to different then with stock wheels

I have 205 65 10's on my G29 drive. They measure 20.5 inches tall and are mounted on standard golf cart 10" steel wheels. This truly appears to be a good max size tire for the Drive. When I turn the front wheels to the max, they clear the front frame by 1/4". The back tires are still a hair off the fenders at max shock compression. I have found these wheels and tires as "brand new take-offs" for 150 a set. Add some nice 10" hubcaps, and you have avoided the lift (in my opinion the best if use is turf/street) and your rollin big and looking good for about 200 bills.
