Short steering column
I had a spare steering column and just for grins I cut it down 6 inches. I used a chop saw to cut the steering shaft and tube. I pressed a short piece of pipe over the steering shaft and ran a weld around it after it was plumb.

Worked out well? I wanted to do this awhile back but never got around to fooling around with it.
