G21a / throttle response
Ok so new to the gas golf cart world. I have a g21 I have recently replace all linkage and cables. I have reset the throttle cables as described here in a few post the throttle body opens when pedel down and looks fully seated when closed. I fams it around the neighborhood and it seems ok but. 1. From a dead stop you press the accelarator and it seems to be a bit bogged then vroom off to the races? Also after running around for a while tring to get top speed (at 20mph) now so I'm happy with that. I got a small backfire when coasting to a stop sign. Thought suggestions. Link to proper cable and carb setup?

Re: G21a / throttle response
G21 should be the same as a g29 or very similar carbruator. I can think of two possible causes. Make sure on your governor that the spring is still attached to the governor arm and the linkage that goes to your pedal. If the spring isn't installed or installed correctly it causes the carb not to close completely when comming back to idle causing a backfire. The bogging you are having could be the pilot jet clogged up or the air/fuel ratio screw I beleve that's what it's called may need adjusting. On a g29 there is a black cap over this screw from the factory for emissions control. To get the cap off use a lighter or pencil torch and melt it then pull it off with needle nose. Take the carb off the cart and drain all the gas before attempting for safety reasons. Not sure what the factory settings are but just remember how many turns it takes clockwise before this screw is seated gently. Then turn the screw back out counterclockwise the number of turns you turned it in and add just a half turn more than the factory setting was. If the bogging seems to get better then your on the right track. If it stays the same then you might have a possible leak around a gasket or the plastic spacer between the carb and block could be cracked allowing air to get sucked in. Take your time and it will take a few swearing words and a few cold beers to get it right. Let us know if any of this helps so we can rule out other pissibilities.
