Default Fuel leak through exhaust

Been having a gas leak issue with the carb and exhaust on 89 EZGO Marathon. Removed carb , cleaned toughly and re-set. Appears fixed, no leak with carb. Still leaking out exhaust port. Could it be a defective fuel pump? Bad diaphragm? Over pumping fuel causing float to stay open flooding the crankcase leading out exhaust port? Anyone ever have this problem? Am I on the right track with the fuel pump? Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

I just went thru this same issue with my 87 Marathon. On mine the bottom diaphragm was broke and as I have learned on here, the fuel pump is driven by crank case pressure. With the bottom diaphragm being broke (torn) the fuel is dumped straight into the crank case, soaks the plug and then out the exhaust. Fuel was literally pouring out of my muffler as I tried to get it to start.

Fuel pump is being changed out so hopefully that solves the problem. Decided to replace the gaskets from the block up. Anyone know the torque values for the lower jug and the head?

Been a while but we finally got the cart running with no leaks. My buddy just did a block up upgrade with new gaskets, pistons, rings, cylinder, bearings, rebuilt carb, drive belt and fuel pump. When he took the piston and head off he noticed a lot of gas in the crankcase. He soaked up the gas came back a little while later and the crankcase was full of gas again. He found the bellow was shot sucking gas into the crankcase blowing out the exhaust, just like photos by red mentioned. Right now compression is good and no leaks.
