Default 89 gas marathon transaxle bearings

I'm currently trying to breathe life into a very tired and wore out 89 marathon which has turned into a full out restoration. I'm noticing the input shaft on the transaxle has some wiggle to it which I'm sure will only get worse with time. I have the service manual for the axle and have many years of building 2 and 4 stroke dirtbike engines for my son, I'm comfortable with tearing into this thing but thought it wouldn't hurt to see if anyone had any additional advice that might be helpful. I do have a spare axle that has stripped gears that I may do an exploratory tear down on first.

For those who don't have an internal bearing puller for pulling bearings from a blind hole on an 89 Ezgo gasser I discovered that a 1/2" drop in concrete wedge anchor, piece of threaded rod with nut and washer works like a charm. Now that I did an exploratory tear down on my spare junker it's time to tear my good one down and replace all the bearings.

Bearings are changed and axle is ready to install, I think I worried more than I should have, wasn't bad at all. This was the last rebuild item on the list so now onto body work and making this girl pretty.
