1987 2pg robin
Hi everyone I just bought my first cart and need help. I'm rebuilding the 1987 244 2 pg robin engine and need instructions for breaking down the crankcase. I have a press but I am unsure how to remove the clutch and pulley. I don't see anything on Youtube. Also I have play in my connecting rod should I replace the crank to?
Thanks |

Re: 1987 2pg robin
just rebuilt mine --TYPE search "1981 2 PG top end rebuild" good pictures.
look in tech for manuals (tech is under the second tool bar at the top of the site). I'll think on it and see what else I used. Mine was a 1988. |

Re: 1987 2pg robin
This manual will work for yours.
Take the long center bolt out of the clutch. Drop a piece of brass rod inside that sits on top of the threads. Then use a 3/4" fine thread bolt on top of that. An impact driver makes it a lot easier. Here is a picture of the homemade puller. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...-gas-cart.html |

Re: 1987 2pg robin
If you're interested --I have the almost complete rebuild kit from mine--it looked like a recent rebuild when I pulled it down. Mine was making loud noises and I wanted eliminate the engine first so I bought a total rebuild just encase. The engine had 100 lbs compression before teardown. The crank is tight looks almost new. I can send pictures and save you some bucks . Turns out it was my clutches and muffler.
