Possible Speed Controller Problem
Hi! I have a 1995 EZGO Medalist. It is speeding up and slowing down while I have the accelerator all the way to the floor. We've changed the solenoid, the micro-switch, solenoid diode and the resistor assembly. The batteries are a little over a year old. We are thinking maybe the speed controller is going bad? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Possible Speed Controller Problem
It could be a throttle signal problem, especially if water has gotten into the pedal box if the throttle is acting erratic.

Re: Possible Speed Controller Problem
it could very well by your ITS.....could have gotten some water in it o it could just starting to breaking down. what you described is a symptom of that happening.

Re: Possible Speed Controller Problem
Thanks for your quick replies. It "was" wet on the gravel road I was driving on when it happened, so I can imagine it being the ITS.

Re: Possible Speed Controller Problem
The ITS is located under the floor behind the go pedal. If you remove the rocker panel and lift the floor mat you will find a cover with 4 screws. Remove the cover and use a hairdryer to dry out the ITS box and components.

Alrighty then! Now when I press the pedal, I can hear it click, but won't go at all!

Re: Possible Speed Controller Problem
Have you opened and dried the ITS out yet?

Re: Possible Speed Controller Problem
No, my husband is going to do it in a little bit. If that doesn't work, should I buy a new ITS?

Re: Possible Speed Controller Problem
ITS failure is rare. So no. There is a wire connector between the pedal box and the controller that needs to be inspected for connector corrosion. Clean terminals or eliminate plug with 4 butt connectors.
