Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
Marianol.....Now that you got it off.....and the hub's (both of them are in need of replacement)....and at least one axel (the one that was welded).....do yourself a favor and replace the hubs with the Ausco Severe Duty Hub & Drum's. you can get them at cartsunlimited.net ( http://www.cartsunlimited.net/ausco-brakes---hubs.html ), Item 4 on the page.

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
That's the same way you need to reinstall the axle nut. 100-140 foot pounds.
PS for about the same money as new (soft) drums you can buy Ausco hard hubs and drums (PK2127) |

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
OEM axles will be harder than cheaper aftermarket axles. Since the hubs will be harder than original properly hardened axles are a good idea
Did you remember to order the spring and keeper set with your new brake shoes? |

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
since you are totally redoing the rear end.....and you will certainly be BEATING on it a bit.....have you thought about or considered new BEARINGS and SEALS for both axles? you will need them for sure on the one side, and no need to skimp on the other side and do them both.
