Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
Thanks everyone of the invaluable help!!!!!
This is what was done: - changed both brake hubs with Ausco HD from scottyb these are real hubs night and day with the OEM crap ( btw great product, great delivery and awesome customer experience, kudos to you scotty!! ) - changed passenger side axle with ez-go oem one, because the previous owner decided that welding it :mgreen: was an awesome idea - changed both axle seals and bearings - changed both brake pads, Springs and keepers <- leaned a new word :) - changed differential oil - full synthetic now - checked diff and gears all were OK Now beer time and going for a neighborhood stroll :) probably in that order... and beer afterwards :) Thanks again to all. Next project ( when the chief is not looking) new controller and cables... and with that I may disassemble the whole thing just for fun :) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
Sounds good, Ezgo engineers wanted a one piece hub/drum that was soft enough for the brake shoes to bite into but tough enough for golf..... and that is exactly what they produced. The heavy duty Ausco Hub fits all the Ezgos without a Keyed axle and wears a readily available CC brake drum - which we also carry

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
It's easily removed with a 1/2" drive torque wrench.

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
The torque spec for the castle nut is 90-140 Ft pounds.

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
And you should start at the mid-range and tighten until the cotter pin lines up. Don't back off to fit the cotter pin.
