Re: 1999 txt
I've been out of town for a few days.
As I understand the situation, you have a stock 36V series drive cart with a rear seat and new batteries and high current cables (all 13 cables ???). The max speed allowed in your community is 10 MPH and you want a bit more oomph climbing mild hills with 2-adult and 2-kids onboard. In a nutshell, you need more low end torque. If you go to a taller tire height, you will need even more low end torque to offset the torque loss due to the change in the final drive ratio. Installing a controller and solenoid that passes more amps than the stock component can/will help, but the best solution is replacing the stock motor with a high-torque motor. |

Re: 1999 txt
Do you ever want to go faster than 10 MPH? Offroad? If you go too crazy with a high torque motor, you will sacrifice top end speed.
Generally, you can have high low end torque, at the expense of top end speed, or high speed, at the expense of low end torque. The best way is to compare motor RPM and do the math with your rear end and measured tire diameter, to see what your top speed will be. If you'll never go faster than 10 MPH, you can get a fairly beefy torque motor. |
