Re: Which rear end

Re: Which rear end
While looking at the gears and spinning the left wheel, the end of the drive shaft in the differential doesn't move like there is a disconnect. So it looks like a break in between. When I step on the pedal The differential spins freely with only slight right wheel movement when I hold the left wheel. I didn't look to see if the left drive shaft end in the differential was spinning with it. My guess is it is. Left wheel also has some play in it like the hub nut is loose. That wheel had a slight wobble since we owned it so it may have had previous damage. She was pretty whooped when I found her.

A little before and after. I picked up the whole deal with a charger for 170 delivered to my house. Granted, the right side batteries fell out of the frame when we unloaded it. Still a good deal in my book. The kids love it. It has a full set of LEDs on it now with a super bright LED flood for the headlight. Almost too bright for the neighborhood. |

Re: Which rear end
Hey....I think it's pretty cool to get an old farm field one out, up and running again. That takes some elbow grease and a little luck. It's like pulling out a 63 Ford Falcon from a field and bringing it back to life. It just don't get better.

Re: Which rear end
Yeah, my youngest son had his first busted knuckles working on this cart. So he can say he put his blood and sweat fixing her up.

Re: Which rear end
So, back to my original question. Does anyone know what rear end I have? Don't say a big one! if it is a Dana, does anyone know which model? It looks like Bob is going to hook me up with the needed parts. Still, I am starting to geek out on these carts and want to learn more. Thanks guys

Re: Which rear end
Just found this. I bet it is just the key that sheared. I didn't think the drum with lugs had a key. Hopefully I will have time tonight to check.
