Totaled 2016 RXV
I have a bought new 2016 rxv that has run over a brick mail box and subsequently been totaled by ins company. I also have a 2010 rxv that runs well but has a lot of golf couse hours on it. My question is can I take the motor and rear end out of the 16 and install in the 10.
Thank you. |

Re: Totaled 2016 RXV
Someone will chime in regarding any bolting issues but I will say this: The motor encoder harness on the 2016 is different than the 2010. You'll have to install a matching harness and wire the wires in the correct order for communication to work properly. BUT I would definitely take the controller and main harness out of the 2016 and install in the 2010 if the 2016 is not operable. You'll be happier with the Curtis controller versus the Danaher. IMO
If you move the controller and the main harness you will not have to change the motor encoder harness as previously mentioned. |

Re: Totaled 2016 RXV
Thanks for the info. The 16 still lights up and will go but the driver side front wheel and suspension in caved into floor board and has shoved the floor board and dash back a couple inches. Ins has agreed to total and I plan on trying to buy back and strip of all usable parts to upgrade the 10.

I agree, transfer the entire electrical system to the good cart. If you transfer all axle mounting hardware, it will swap too. Might have to figure out something to the shocks, some used "eyes", later ones used "studs".

I think it gets down to do you want to do a rebuild. Some members love doing something like this while some members just want to turn the key on and go. Some work, some headaches it's what you want to do. That's my two cents.

Re: Totaled 2016 RXV
It depends. If you're 2010 works fine, then I wouldn't dive into the swap until you need to do the swap or that Kansas winter has you itching for someplace to hole up and get away from things...
I'd part out the 2016 with all the goodies you may want to swap or sell off on Ebay/ CL and run the 2010 as is... When it's time for a swap, I'd do the whole deal...the RXV is really not difficult to work on, just take you're time, take pictures, ask questions along the way. |

Re: Totaled 2016 RXV
Can the frame be fixed and new front end parts installed to get it back right? Would that be more of a problem?
