Upgrade it to the toggle F/R switch that ScottyB can provide.

It sounds like you have the lever type of f/r. If so, under that cover beneath the seat you'll find the mechanism that lever connects to. It's a common problem area with series carts, which is why oleblue suggested you change it out. Look up cartsunlimited and look for the reverse contactor. It's a great upgrade and easy to install. In the meantime, you can check under the f/r cover and see what you find. The contacts under there may be worn, dirty or loose. There's plenty of searchable info on this site to help.

Put it in Tow and disconnect the pack before you start digging around under the hood.

This is a series cart, they do not have run/tow switches.
The simplest fix is installing carts unlimited heavy duty EZ575 F&R switch

Scotty is one of the experts here. He is always helping people on the forum and provides great customer service if you order something from him. Below is a link to the reversing contractor I was talking about above. It gets rid of that crappy lever and gives you a simple switch instead. The switch is way easier to operate and takes a potential problem piece out of a series cart. You won't regret that upgrade.

Heck, he gives great "customer service" even if you buy from elsewhere, including the site that should never be used/mentioned.

I can only think of a few things that I didn't buy from him, such as batteries.
