Sounds perfectly normal for a Yamaha charging system to me.

Too much voltage for the amplifier. You'll either need a voltage stabilizer, or get a different amplifier with a more tightly regulated power supply. I believe the JL Audio amps will work up to around 16v but not much more than that.

After having installed a "home made" voltage regulator, I noticed that at low rpm (<2,500), all is fine but going up, the starter/generator does not produce electricity anymore...

Roughtly said, an arduino gets the voltage and open/close a relay depending of the value. This relay sends the minus to the starter to produce electricity. I added Bluetooth to be able to read/record the values in real time and change the min/max voltage easily. Actually, I limit at 13.8 (which rarely goes to 14.2 max) and restarts at 13.0.

A couple of months before, I cleaned the starter/generator, changed the bearings, carbon brushes...

Strange reaction I would like to investigate, IMHO it should work or not... Any experience on that CGTech?
