3 loud clunks
New to us refurbished 2015 RXV. Brought it home Saturday. Last night, when we turn key from off to any position there are three clunks.
I can't think of a better word, not really a knock. Maybe a thump. Seems like some sort of start up procedure, but we never heard it before on this car or amy of the several others we test drove. Brake maybe? Cart works as normal just has three distinct thumps when the key is turned. Any help would be appreciated. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Re: 3 loud clunks
Sound like the typical start up test on an RXV. Motor twist. Brake test, etc. These are basically computers on wheels and are different than traditional series or PDS carts. Really great carts with fantastic potential, but are quite different to work with.

Re: 3 loud clunks
That"s reassuring, but why did it just start doing that when it didn't do it once in three days of significant usage.
Just confused I guess. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

I willing to bet that it did “it”, you just didn’t notice until now. Every electric RXV I have been in makes noise when it’s turned on.

Re: 3 loud clunks
It first clicks the solenoid, then tries to twist against the brake forward 1/4 turn, then back 1/4 turn (to see if the motor brake is present, and able to stop the motor). The third "thud" you hear is probably the motor getting back to it's "at rest position", with the cart/motor still slightly "rocking" due to the test. It's not a problem. Just normal startup sequence. It will also occasionally do a "even harder twist test" just to be sure. Most users would never even notice the difference, but I think you might notice, since you could discern details of the typical startup test most users would never think twice about.

@cgtech Thanks.
That rings true and it is comforting to have an expert put my mind at ease. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |
