I was implying "nastiest torture test", keeping the load in the max amp area for an extended period of time, like good traction, little wheel spin, full throttle, no speed gain. Like dragging a big concrete mass, rpms barely above zero for extended periods. Things no one would ever expect to be successful in the real world. Things us real world users would never do (probably because of "loss of traction" issues). Like you said, real world numbers would never support my supposed use, it would be more like your use. Maximum amp flow would only last fractions of a second, 1.0 second of "max amp flow" is something we (and lucky for our motors) will never see.

The TSX500 (v1) is an old controller. Was it put in recently? They only sell TSX3 in the 440 and 600 configurations. There was a TSX2.0 between the current TSX3.0 controller and the TSX500. Hopefully your friend didn't just by this thing and got it in 2011 or something like that.

Turns out it was a 600 amp unit, he just thought it was a 500 amp unit... Its taken the shop several ties and the cart is still not right so I was basically questioning everything as I'm only familiar with Club Car and Curtis controllers and know nothing about his Yamaha.
