Here's a thread where the member is looking to upgrade, but has been running with exactly what you want to do. He even has a lift, big tires, and is running on stock cables.

Well guys thanks for all the input and advise finally just made a decision and I’m gonna do a solid state.
Next question is will this 30 year old motor be able to hold up? Or should I upgrade that too? Will any 48 volt charger work? |
