Lester summit 2 question
i have two 36v ezgo golf carts both charging on two separate summit 2 chargers one cart is reading 48.2v and says it’s 91% charged
The other cart reads 46.1v and says it’s 100% charged Is one of them over charging or is one batteries not as good as they should be The chargers are less than a year old and both set to the same settings Appreciate any help thank you |

Re: Lester summit 2 question
Technically, a lead-acid battery is not fully charged until the On-Charge voltage ceases to increase while a charging current is passing through it and the Summit-II uses dV/dT (change in Voltage over change in Time) to determine when 100% SoC is obtained.
Since the second one is reading 100%, the charge cycle should have ended, so the voltage being read might be in transition from the highest On-Charge voltage reached down to the float charge voltage the charger maintains (probable somewhere in the 39V to 40V range). Need more information to determine if the chargers or batteries are operating normally, or misbehaving. It is going to take a few days. Try swapping carts and chargers and see if what happens. If you have a DVM with a Min/Max function, measure the highest On-Charge voltage for each charger on each set of batteries. When charger is reading about 80% to 90% SoC, measure the On-Charger voltage of each individual battery. Ideally, all batteries in the same pack should all be within about 0.1V of each other. |

Re: Lester summit 2 question
I have seen these chargers sometime auto sense 48 volt when it should be 36. Get thre bluetooth app and check the charge voltage it had selected.
