Default RXV Voltage Reducer glitch

So I wired my recently purchased voltage reducer to the switch side of the solenoid. Only thing hooked to the 12v output side of the reducer are the LED headlights. Everything works as it should except when the cart is shut off without switching the headlight switch to off. If the cart is "started" with the headlights on, the cart will not move. You must turn the key off and wait a minute or so with the headlight switch off.

It's like the solenoid is sensing an extra draw and fails a startup test. Is this normal? I don't like how this runs and am planning in just running a separate 12v battery.

Hope this makes sense.

TIA

The RXV are a special type of cart. IMHO remove all non original wiring from the control system.

Appreciate the feedback, but everyone I have asked said this is the best way to hook up a 48V>12V reducer.

It is hooked to the large terminal from solenoid to controller, right? Not the small red wire.

The is Very Important, or you are risking killing the controller.
