Default 08 TXT diff or clutch died??

I finally got a new (to me cart) to replace my old 97. Its a 2008 TXT in mint condition. But late this evening on the golf course I went to drive and it made this crazy noise from the rear end and will not go forward or reverse. The clutch is engaging and driving the belt. The secondary clutch wheel is spinning as well but it just makes a kind of "zzzzezzz" noise. There is a little friction like its trying to move but it's just free spinning now. I'm super bummed out. I just got this cart last month and its in such good shape. Ill put some pics up later. I can take video too of what its doing. Do we still need to post them to YouTube to get them to show in threads?

Where do I start on my troubleshooting?
Is it the differential?
Is it the secondary (driven) clutch?

Thanks guys!

*** This is not my video**

But please see the beginning at the 3-second mark and a little after. That sound is the exact sound mine is making. Mine did move in reverse for a couple of minutes but just free spins the same as forward now. But that sound is the same as this guy's video.

Guessing I would say your rear hub is stripped, usually the driver side. Easy to check. Remove the small hub cap and watch to see if the axle nut spins and hub doesn't.

So the hub at the wheel? If so is it just one side?

Okay, ill check tomorrow. It legit sounded like the passenger side when the noise happened. Like I had this feeling of "did the right rear tire just come off!?!?" .....LOL

I will agree with Trig, It would usually be the drivers side, but thats not set in stone lol. Just pop off both center caps and get someone to drive (TRY) and watch the hub nuts. If one is spinning then that drum needs replacing.

I cant remember the torque setting for the hub nut but I am sure Trig has the info at hand. Just remember, when you torque it up, dont slacken back off to line the split pin up. Torque it tighter to align.

Tighten the castellated axle nut to 70 ft. lbs. (95 Nm) torque
minimum, 140 ft. lbs. (190 Nm) torque maximum. Continue to
tighten until the slot in the nut aligns with the cotter pin hole

I have to remove the wheel to see the end of the shaft as i dont have hub caps. But when i do remove them, with it on jack stands and the parking brake off, if the hub is stripped I should be able to turn it by hand correct??

Probably not by hand, may need to remove the center cap and reinstall the tire with a couple of lug nuts.
Should also be able to see a lot of metal fines or shavings around the nut.
Make sure before you install the new hub clean and/or wire brush the splines of the axle.

Any chance you have watched the driven clutch (back one) to make sure you are going fully into gear when changing from forward to reverse? Just a thought it might not be shifting fully but I'm betting hub as well.
