Break in questions
After completely rebuilding the Robin 2PG, I have a couple break in questions.
1. The biggest problem, prior to blowing the head gasket, was that Izzy had plenty of top end speed but would not go uphill worth a crap. I don't want to stress the new engine by trying steep hills for a while. How long should I break it in before I can find out if she can go uphill? 2. I was always cautious about adding any fuel system cleaner like Seafoam because of how easy it would be to screw up the 128 to 1 oil ratio. Would it be wise to put Seafoam in to clean the carb while I am running 40 to 1 for the break-in? |

Re: Break in questions
I'd say let her rip on that second tank or even close to the end of the first tank.
My spark plug fouled out on tank #3 after a fresh rebuild. Replaced it and it was good to go, but I thought it would have happened at least once in the first tank, but I'm assuming you cleaned the carb during the rebuild so I see no reason to add seafoam. |
