Ezgo gas cart stalls
I have a 2013 easy go TXT gas cart.
It seems to run fine most days but sometimes it will stall when I press the gas pedal nothing will happen then if I wait a bit and gently push the gas pedal it will pick up and go not sure what’s going on need help. I have a new battery a new starter generator a new voltage regulator a new fuel filter the air filter is clean I’m at a loss what next to do can anyone help. I have cleaned the spark plug and verified the battery is charging properly. |

Re: Ezgo gas cart stalls
When you say stalls, do you mean the starter is not spinning when you push the pedal or motor spins and will not start?
How old is the replacement starter/generator and is it aftermarket or OEM? If it is spinning then possible valve adjustment. |

Re: Ezgo gas cart stalls
I actually have the same issue…. Which is why I registered and am here. My dad has a Kawasaki engine in his EZ Go. It runs great, most of the time. But occasionally, it won’t run. It’s always after you’ve started and drive . Almost like it gets hot and then you’ll hit the pedal, and nothing happens. Starter/generator doesn’t spin, you can hear a small click but nothing else. The starter generator has been replaced, new fuel pump, new carb, service frequently, but it happens and you have to let it “cool off” for about 2-5 mins before it will start again when you hit the pedal. Any ideas to check?

Re: Ezgo gas cart stalls
Check all of your high voltage cables, both positive and ground for loose connections or corrosion causing amp restriction.
When it does this, (not spin), open the seat and turn the engine forward a 1/4 turn, then try it again. If it starts, you probably have starter/generator issues, I read you said new but is it OEM new or $69.00 aftermarket new? |

Re: Ezgo gas cart stalls
Sounds like the solenoid is pulling in, but maybe not getting voltage out to the starter/generator. Put a volt meter with alligator clamps on a good ground and the big post of the solenoid headed to the starter Generator, and see if you are getting voltage out of the solenoid. Possible that something internal on the solenoid is coming apart. When it won't turn the starter, use plyers to connect the terminals on the solenoid is another way to see if that is the problem.

Re: Ezgo gas cart stalls
I don't have an EZGO with a Kawasaki engine, so I can't take a pic to show you, but the starter/generator should only have two heavy gauge wires leading away from it...one is a ground and goes to the frame and/or engine, and the other goes directly to the solenoid terminal that I referenced, from which you should check to see if you are getting 12+ volts. I'm pretty sure it is located under the seat at the front left corner of the engine compartment down at the frame. Quick google search of "EZGO Solenoid" would get you a picture of what it looks like.
