Club Car Firing After Hitting Brake - Need Additional Help
I received some advice on here about my cart still firing after stopping. I was told that the butterfly is stuck open and the fumes from the carb ignite because the engine is still hot. Here is what I need additional help with:
-Is the butterfly and choke plate the exact same thing? -I got the choke plate closed, but by doing so the cart speed has dramatically decreased. Is there a way to keep the choke plate closed when stopping, but not effect the speed? When I adjust the governor to increase speed the cable pulls the plate open. Thanks for the help! |

Re: Club Car Firing After Hitting Brake - Need Additional Help
There is no choke plate on these carbs. The only plate is the throttle plate.
If you have the governor adjusted incorrectly it will hold the plate open. The easiest way to get some extra speed is to use a zip tie on the governor spring so the throttle cable pulls the governor arm a little more. Back off your governor arm adjustment so the throttle plate stays closed when off the pedal, and slowly adjust the zip tie tighter until you get your desired speed. Stay below 4,000 rpm or you'll chuck the balance weight through the block. |
