Default 2000 EZGO TXT - Airbox Question

I bought a 2000 EZGO TXT that had a small engine fire. The cart still runs and drives great, but during the fire it melted the airbox. Is there a way to switch to the newer airbox that is round compared to the one that is rectangle with like 3 or 4 clamps? I ask, cause my local EZGO dealer only has the newer round air box.

Any suggestions on where to get used air boxes?

TIA for any help that you can provide!

Default Re: 2000 EZGO TXT - Airbox Question

no idea where to get all the parts, but they definitely can be converted. You need a bunch of parts: the round plastic intake adapter that sits on the carb, hose clamps around it, you need a hose, you need the air filter box (round) with cap, and a hose to connect from that box to your clean air opening at the leg well. There is a different metal bracket that slides on the carb bolts that holds the throttle cable. I think there is also a different bracket that holds the filter box. Personally, I think it would be easier to find a used rectangular air box. I probably have a couple sitting in the parts bin outside. Find a municipal or cheap golf course and ask if they have a "bone yard" for carts and equipment...might find exactly what you need either way.
