Default Carb trouble

On my 98 EzGo The pilot screw has a plastic knob on it to adjust the low idle speed on it. The knob turns 180 degrees all the way to the left and back to the right if needed. My shop manual shows that pilot screw with a screw head on it. The way it is running know I believe it needs to be turned more than just 180. Does anybody know where to set the screw at from the factory or something close to get the most out of it. Thanks everybody for your help already. This site has alot of great potential to it!

Well I pulled the carb apart last night and cleaned her up. Made some adjustments and put her back together. I have the Pilot screw turned out around 1 - 1 1/2 turns and it seems to be doing great. These little carbs out in the wilderness seem to get crap in them alot. Just went through it in the spring and here I am doing it again. Of course some of is from the poor sealing air filter box when you switch from a factory air filter to a K&N. We will see how long she stays clean this time.

Sounds like the K&N is going to need a lot more maintenance than the old stock cleaner, Probably why your idle mixture wasn't working too. The system works good as stock and I don't see any hp gain in the stock motor with improved breathing or exhaust...
