pachanga90,

You hit it right on the head. The timing on the Polaris motor is 8° BTDC when not running(stationary) and advances to 23° BTDC at just 2000rpm. Getting the timing sorted out will be difficult, but I think I can do it. The hardest part so far is getting the clutching right. I had the primary dialed in, using the parts from the Polaris clutch. The hard part is getting the secondary right. The motor needs to get into a higher rpm to get into the power band. I couldn't get it past approx. 4500rpm. The motor had much better acceleration and power than stock up to that point, but it never really hit peak power. I'm not really sure I want to have to rev it out that far anyway. We'll see what the winter project brings.

Try adding a shim, maybe 1/4"-3/8" thick under the secondary-spring.That will delay upshift, and increase the response-time on Back-Shift.Hope this helps.

The reverse deal should be easily hurdled.
Would the stock 3pg ignition not fit the sled mill?
Sled jug on EZGO bottom end?
