How do you know what year ez-go?
I just got an Ez-Go TXT yesterday. I do t know how to tell what year it is. The guy thought it was a 96 but a buddy of mine thinks its newer due to the steering linkage. Since this is my first cart and I am new to this I have no idea. The data plate is not in the right side cavity. Is there another plate elsewhere. I think i am gonna need to provide a Serial number to be able to get insurance. I am Planning on making it street legal for South Carolina which I have been told only requires a headlight and red rear reflectors. After that i would be able to drive it within 5 miles of the house I believe. (I could be way off like I said I am new!)

1995 - 2001.5 had the steering box up on the firewall. 2001.5 & up had the steering box on the front axle.

Well I was installing a small stereo system today and stumbled onto another data plate in the battery compartment it has a date code 10604. I am guessing that means January 06 2004? I may be totally wrong but that is my best guess. If that is correct the guy I got the cart from was way off from the 1996 that he thought it was. Cool for me though!

Where is your steering? From your column where does it go? Is there a shaft that goes down to an assembly on the front axle?
