2002 DS IQ brake light not working
I have a 2002 DS IQ all the lights work , flashers, turn signals , headlights, running lights they all work except the brake lights . I checked the bulbs I changed the switch under the brake pedal I checked the only fuses I found under the seat( 3 20 amp fuses ) all were good . Wiring looks good and tight . What am I missing ?

Re: 2002 DS IQ brake light not working
There's another micro switch behind the brake pedal. Check it. There's also a relay behind the dash. If it goes bad, the brake lights won't work. It's the same 48 volt relay found in a charger.

Re: 2002 DS IQ brake light not working
Ok I have checked both micro switches both of them ohm out fine but I replaced anyway. I di not find a relay under my dash ,that's assuming that under the dash means behind the panel where the key goes. This a factory light kit and every light on the thing works , the hazard lights , running lights, turn signals and head lights . So withe hazards and turn signals working I would say I have power all the way back! Correct or am I wrong . Unfortunately electricity is my weakness!

Re: 2002 DS IQ brake light not working
yes you should have power but with a golfcart i never assume anything................verify when pedal is pressed you have power for brake lights back there do it right at light housings take bulbs out and use a test light make sure when you hit pedal it lights up and when you let off it goes out.........................................

Re: 2002 DS IQ brake light not working
Look for the brown wire coming out of your light harness behind the dash. It should be plugged into a relay. This is the wire coming out of your micro switch behind your pedal.... This is the path it takes...
Fuse box to micro under floor, to micro behind pedal, to relay (or Y-Splitter, splits to Yellow and White), To tail lights. |
