Re: 2014 efi governor
I was just at a dealer looking to buy a 15 EFI Yamaha Adventure 2+2, they said after a break in period that I could adjust the gov and get 23-27 out of the cart without damage? Does that sound correct or is it a sales job? I have a EZGO electric that does 20 and I really want to get to 25 and the range of gas.

Re: 2014 efi governor
23 is possible on larger diameter tires but 27 is far fetched with leaving the governor still attached

Re: 2014 efi governor
Like the old saying "Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?" It's certainly possible to see 25 to 35 MPH, but it will require modifications, and the tradeoff for that increased speed will likely be a reduction in pulling power. With sensible clutch modifications, you can set your shifting RPM points and achieve a reasonably good balance between speed and acceleration. If you are not planning on doing steep hill climbing, you can change the axle ratio from the stock 12:1 to an 8:1, which will allow you to keep the governor partially working and still top 25 MPH. But that's a costly upgrade. Larger tires and a lift kit will give you a similar ratio change and boost top speed, but that can also be costly.
Bottom line is that you can achieve any speed goal you wish. All it takes is the resources and the money to make it happen. |
